Science & Social Studies
We will learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the month of January. I created a tree map for the students to use. Grab a copy of the tree map I created here. I updated the tree map to say: had, was, and wanted. Click on the picture below for the updated version:
Check out this great blog with a cute Martin Luther King Jr. mini unit with some great printables http://eberhartsexplorers.blogspot.com/2012/01/mlk-jr-mini-unit-freebie.html. I used her copy of the tree map because I had already made the copies and I thought her unit was so cute.... Here is how some of them turned out.

It is essential for students to:
know that there are features that can be found in the day sky and in the night sky.
The day sky is when there is enough light from the Sun to see.
The Sun is the only star seen in the day sky.
Examples of features found in the day sky might include the Sun, the Moon, clouds, birds, or airplanes.
The night sky is when light from the sun can no longer be seen.
Examples of features found in the night sky might include the Moon, clouds, airplanes, or stars.
